For the first time in more than 14 months, Tiger Woods will tee it up inside the ropes in a PGA Tour event at the Safeway Open. The 14-time major champion is coming off multiple back surgeries and will kick off the year in the 2016-17 PGA Tour season opener. So what are realistic expectations for Woods at the Silverado Resort and Spas North Course? And what will his game look like under the tournament spotlight? Our panel of experts debate those topics and more in a Tiger-focused edition of Monday Four-Ball.1. What are you most interested to see from Tiger this week?SportsCenter anchor Matt Barrie: Body language. Sounds funny, but for the past two years, we havent seen Tiger play without some sort of limp, grimace, tightness or confidence. Watching him swing, walk and react will give us a decent indication about where he his health-wise.SportsCenter anchor Jonathan Coachman: I really want to see where his game is at. Can he be competitive right away or will it take a while? I am selfish and I want him to shoot a 64 right away, but I know thats probably not realistic. I would be encouraged if we saw Tiger in control of his golf ball and if he was able to shape it both ways. I know he will be fine, but I want it to come back fast.ESPN.com senior golf analyst Michael Collins:? Im anxious to see what he looks like at the end of his second tournament round. Round 1 will be on plenty of adrenaline. By Friday on his back nine, Tiger will be playing the game we can expect to see from him in the future. I also cant wait for his self-evaluation because you know hes going to come out with a new saying. Remember getting my glutes to activate?ESPN.com senior golf writer Bob Harig: Is he healthy? Can he swing freely, hit shots out of the rough, take an awkward stance in a bunker? And is he willing and able to practice after a round? All of these things go toward his overall health.ESPN.com senior golf writer Jason Sobel: The little things. Does he seem relaxed or stressed? Is he regularly stretching his back or does he look fully healthy? Will he try to work the ball both ways or will he have a singular go-to shot? A lot of little nuances that are better witnessed in person than on the TV broadcast.2. Why should we believe this comeback will be different?Barrie: He took his time coming back. The common thought about Tigers health is that hes rushed back numerous times, and it caused more harm than good. This time around, he waited until he felt right. If he is in fact healthy, and time was his best rehab, we could be in store for a fun storyline.Coachman: Because he took his time, did not get impatient and now is close to 100 percent. That is the biggest thing Tiger will need. He needs to go full speed in his swing and be confident in his short game. This year will be the reason he comes back better than ever. If anyone can climb back to the top, it is Mr. Woods.Collins:?We shouldnt. Tiger hasnt earned any trust from us when it comes to his health. I want more than anything for this comeback to last for two full seasons. Unfortunately, if he is in pain this week at the tournament, do any of you believe hes going to tell us? You must be thinking of Jason Day.Harig: Until we know for sure how healthy he is, Im not sure we should believe it will be different. But a good reason to believe it is the fact that he took more than a year away from the game this time. He didnt rush. He resisted the urge to play when he knew better. And lets be honest, there is no compelling reason to return now. He could have easily wwaited even longer.ddddddddddddHe must feel he is ready to go.Sobel: Every comeback is different; every comeback has varying degrees of success and failure. I wouldnt base anything that happens this week -- or in future months -- on what hes done while returning from past injuries.3. What will you consider a successful week for Woods?Barrie: Making the cut. I have zero expectations for his name to be on the leaderboard. However, his body and swing needs to be tested for four days of tournament golf. Including the galleries, the mileage and mindset thats required for competitive golf.Coachman: For me, its making the cut. Lets be honest. Tiger is not immune to pressure and if he hasnt played in over a year, it will naturally take some time. Tiger will tell you success is a win, but I think he even knows deep down it will be so hard to win this tournament. So our answers would be completely different.Collins:?It would be a successful week for Tiger to get through 54 holes without any pain, discomfort, limping, gimping or wincing. I say 54 holes because that would include the Wednesday pro-am and the first two rounds. After being gone for more than a year, low expectations are warranted, even for Tiger Woods.Harig: Playing 36 holes pain free, being able to properly practice after the rounds, showing signs of making progress by doing the routine things properly, such as the short game. If Woods misses the cut, that is not necessarily failure. It is the manner in which it happens that will ultimately determine the success of the week.Sobel: He hits some decent shots, doesnt reinjure himself and looks like hes having some fun on the course. Anything else is gravy. I wont judge his success this week solely on the scores and final result.4. More likely, Tiger shoots 70 or 80 in his first competitive round in more than a year Thursday?Barrie: 80. While I think hell be around a 76, this first round for him is going to feel like a major. All eyes are going to be on the greatest golfer in the past
