Cheney, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The parent of an Eastern Washington University player who suffered a medical emergency in the stands during a recent playoff game died Saturday. The Big Sky Conference school announced the passing of John Rodgers, the father of EWU senior All-America offensive tackle Jake Rodgers. John Rodgers went into cardiac arrest during the final minutes of EWUs FCS playoff game against Illinois State on Dec. 13. On behalf of the entire Eastern Washington University family and our football program, our thoughts, hearts and prayers go out to Jake Rodgers and his family during this very tough time, EWU football coach Beau Baldwin said.
