Arsene Wenger believes Jack Wilshere is ready for England duty after playing 68 minutes in Arsenals 4-0 victory over Aston Villa. Making his first Premier League start since the final day of last season, Wilshere put in a solid display to give the watching England manager Roy Hodgson plenty to think about ahead of his latest squad announcement on Monday. And Wenger insists Wilshere, who has now played 141 minutes of competitive football since returning from nearly a year on the sidelines, will be fully up to speed should Hodgson ultimately pick him for this summers tournament in France. When asked if the 24-year-old is ready to play for England, Wenger told Sky Sports: Yes, he has shown that again today. He will get stronger and stronger. He has a basic fitness but needs a few games now. He needs two, three games more and he will be ready for England. England manager Roy Hodgson (centre) watched Wilshere in action against Aston Villa Wilshere was straight into the action on his return to the Arsenal starting line-up, combining well with Santi Cazorla as the Gunners took an early lead.He was showing off the full range of his passing repertoire as the Gunners looked to extend their lead, linking up particularly well with Alexis Sanchez. Wilshere missed a golden chance in the first half to mark his comeback with a goal There was a slight worry when Scott Sinclair accidentally stood on Wilsheres foot, but the England midfielder ran off the knock despite appearing to hobble for a few minutes. And just before the break he had the chance to cap his first league start in a year with a goal but could only find the side netting, bringing a wry smile from Hodgson. In the 68th minute, it was a case of job done for Wilshere as he made way for Mohamed Elneny and Wenger insists the England midfielder has no problems ahead of the Euros.
