Dan Paille was the overtime hero, giving the Boston Bruins a 2-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game Two, evening the Stanley Cup Final at one win apiece. Not only did Paille score the game-winning goal, but he also created the scoring chance that led to Bostons first goal, deking Blackhawks D Nick Leddy behind the Chicago net and Pailles scoring attempt coming from behind the net led to Chris Kelly knocking in the rebound. It was Kellys first goal of the playoffs. Chicago has been the team getting more production throughout the playoffs from their depth forwards. Forwards that have played fewer than 17 minutes per game in the playoffs for Boston have scored nine goals (three from injured C Gregory Campbell), including both in Game Two. Blackhawks forwards under that same ice time threshold have scored 22 goals. Chicago opened the game utterly dominating Boston, outshooting the Bruins 19-4 in the first period (30-5 in shot attempts), before Boston balanced the scales, outshooting Chicago 24-15 over the rest of the game. Despite that early dominance, Chicago only scored once, a goal by Patrick Sharp, giving him nine goals in the postseason. Chicago could have had another goal, but what appeared to be a goal by Marian Hossa was disallowed when it was ruled that the referee blew the whistle. Sharp and Hossa tied with a game-high seven shots on goal, while Hossa, Jonathan Toews and Michal Rozsival had the strongest possession numbers of the night. Bruins RW Jaromir Jagr, still searching for his first goal of the playoffs, led the Bruins with five shots on goal and fired a puck off the crossbar in overtime. Bruins LW Milan Lucic didnt register a shot on goal, but had 10 hits, all of which came in the first two periods. The Blackhawks inability to put the Bruins away early came back to haunt them. Through the ebbs and flows of the first two games, its been evident that Chicago can control play using their speed and puck skills, while the Bruins can shift the tenor of the game when they get physical and force turnovers on the forecheck. At different times, in both games, each team has held the advantage playing to their respective strengths. That Boston returns home with a split, however, gives them the slight advantage going forward but, as one might expect when the first two games go to overtime, there is a very fine line between winning and losing in this series. William Leffen Hjelte kept to his self-imposed rules on Day 2 of The Big House 6 in Dearborn, Michigan, and withheld his signature Fox on Saturday. Instead, he rotated between Falco and Marth to make it into the final bracket on the winners side as the Melee singles field was trimmed from over 1,500 players to just 64.Things were shaky as he dropped a game against Vinodh Muthiahs Jigglypuff in the Round 2 pool, but Leffen wouldnt budge from his plan.I cannot play Fox right now for The Big House 6. Many people are expecting me to switch characters midway through finals day, but its a hard rule for me to not play Fox at this event, Leffen said. Im going to stick with most of the top tiers -- mainly Falco and Marth. Basically, whoever feels the most fun to play.Still, he couldnt be happier to visit the United States for the first time in nearly a year. As he passed through customs, he said he saw the same officer that detained him a year before, but said he felt relieved when he made it through security clearance. He says hes still adjusting to life in the Dearborn, Michigan, area.It was surreal to be in America and its so different from Sweden that I went into culture shock. It has been such a long time since I was in America. Things are smalller and modest back home, but the Big House hotel and the nearby mall were so big.dddddddddddd I came early and didnt see anyone I knew, but I felt comfortable as time went on. It feels good to be back, Leffen said. For nearly a year, things looked uncertain for Leffen as he waited for his visa to be approved. After delays in the visa process prevented him from traveling to Las Vegas to compete in Evolution last June, he was ready to give up.Its tough to always be on call and be uncertain on whether I can enter events. I stopped practicing and it was stressful. I would have rather known a firm date [for] when I could come back rather than be hopeful and then denied each time, Leffen said. With the lack of practice, Leffen knows he will need time to return to form. While Leffen says his mental game is still solid, he admits his execution was 5 out of 10 so far in Big House 6.Regardless of what happens on bracket day, Leffen says hes hopeful for Eclipse and Smash Summit 3 later in the fall. For fans who want to see Fox, Leffen smiled and said that he plans to return to that character for Smash Summit 3 in November. ' ' '
