DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia -- Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby admitted he went to bed too early the last time he celebrated a Stanley Cup victory in his hometown of Cole Harbour in 2009.He wont make the same mistake twice when he brings the Cup home again on July 15-16.I was pretty happy with what I did in those few days [in 2009], to be honest with you. I couldnt believe I squeezed that much in two days, Crosby said with a smile. I didnt know there was enough time to get that much in. If anything, I went to bed pretty early the first night because I got the Cup early and had a really early morning, starting out the next day, and I told myself Im not going to go to bed that early next time. Im going to find a way to get through those two days with as little sleep as possible. Im going to enjoy it.Going back to 09, we thought it was going to be an annual thing, so this time I appreciate it a little more and Ill make sure I spend every second I possibly can with it.Bringing the Cup back here to celebrate with the community that helped mold him into a two-time Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe winner was a no-brainer.It just feels right, Crosby said.Hes spending the first part of his week running his second annual hockey camp. There are 160 kids from all around the world attending the camp, and Crosbys hands-on when it comes to all activities, both on and off the ice, Monday through Friday. It will conclude with a Stanley Cup parade.Weve got a lot of things planned, Crosby said with a smile. I dont know if I want to necessarily going into details, but we have a lot of things planned. The biggest thing is you want to enjoy it, it goes by quick. You try to get it to as many people as possible, let as many people enjoy it because, for me, thats one of the best parts just seeing the reaction on peoples faces. A lot of times people who dont necessarily expect to see it and sometimes thats the best part of it. Itll be a busy schedule, but theres lots on it.Crosby acknowledged the parade will be a bit shorter than it was in 2009, but other than that, he expects it to be similar.Im hoping its a great turnout, he said. I know last time it was. I know people are excited from the people Ive talked to, so its pretty special to be bringing it all the way through here and down to the rink. Its really nice and Im expecting it to be a lot of fun.The parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m., but locals begin to camp out as early as 6 a.m. to get a glimpse of their hometown boy with the Stanley Cup.The Penguins defeated the San Jose Sharks in six games to hoist hockeys sacred chalice on June 12. It was the second title for Crosby and his third trip (2008) to the finals. You appreciate it more, Crosby said. Having gone seasons where you fall up short, and there are high expectations, this year is kind of different season, the way it went -- a story of two teams, really. Having gone through those things in the past, I probably appreciate it more.Along with running his hockey camp, preparing for a two-day celebration, Crosby also said he started working out again in preparation for the 2016-17 season this week. Its a pretty short summer, and thats the challenge for going deep into the playoffs, Crosby said. Youve got to find a way to manage the work and rest at the same time. With the World Cup being right around the corner, itll be a busy summer, but I feel like a big part of why I come home is you get that feel of being relaxed even though youre training and youre around friends and family, you get away from things a little bit, and thats definitely important. As far as a return trip to the Stanley Cup finals in 2017, Crosby hopes thats the case, but he also understands how difficult it is to reach that point of the season, let alone win back-to-back championships. In fact, the Detroit Red Wings were the last team to accomplish the feat in 1996-97 and 1997-98.Yeah, Id love to be back, he said. Its not too easy. You dont see too many teams do it. We were able to [return in back-to-back seasons] in 08-09 and its really a tough road, especially when youre talking about World Cup right around the corner and a lot of hockey to be played. Its going to be a challenge, but you do understand its tough to get there and its something you try to take in as much as you can when you win it. Custom Magic Jersey China .500 on the season. COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Indianas upset of Michigan State in overtime Saturday raised some eyebrows among college football pundits around the country, but it wasnt a huge stunner for Ohio State players who know the Hoosiers as a tough out the past few years.Indiana (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) overcame a 14-point Spartans lead in the final 16 minutes Saturday night, and won on a 20-yard field goal in overtime, 24-21. Indiana won its first overtime game in six years and got its second win in 26 tries over a ranked foe.The task this week will be more formidable for the Hoosiers when they travel to Columbus to play No. 2 Ohio State (4-0, 1-0).Last year the Buckeyes just snuck by Indiana 34-27, fumbling the ball four times and racking up 109 penalty yards. In 2014, the Buckeyes didnt manage to pull away until the third quarter in a 42-27 win.Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said Monday the Hoosiers have by far their best team this season.I see an outstanding team, Meyer said. For four years in a row its been a swing-as-hard-as-you-can (game)....Theyve got an excellent coaching staff, you can see some really good things on video tape, and their game Saturday was a great win for that program.Defensive end Sam Hubbard said Indianas victory over the defending Big Ten champs last week just adds to the intensity of Saturdays matchup. They almost beat us last year, so we didnt really expect it to be an easy game at all, Hubbard said, noting that Indiana could have the best offensive line the Buckeyes have faced this year. When I heard about it, I wasnt shocked by any means, said quarterback J.T. Barrett, who became the Ohio State career leader for touchdown passes Saturday. Indiana is not a team to look past because they give us trouble every year.DEFENSE MAKES THE DIFFERENCEA slow start in the Tulsa game notwithstanding, the Buckeyes have clicked early this season and havent run into anny major potholes, in contrast to last season when they had trouble playing consistently until near the end.dddddddddddd Meyer credits a deep, stifling defense with making the difference.Ohio State had another shut-down defensive performance on Saturday in the 58-0 dismantling of Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights were held to 116 total yards, 33 passing yards and nine first downs. Ohio State is third in the nation in total defense and is the only team not to have allowed a rushing touchdown.Thats just the way the game of football is -- if you have a great defense, things are usually going to get rolling for you at some point, even if you struggle a little bit, Meyer said. And the fact that you have J.T. Barrett running the show, its pretty smooth. Even when he makes a mistake, usually its not an awful one and we can rally right back up. But it starts with defense.WEBER ROLLING ALONGRunning back Mike Weber was named Big Ten freshman of the week after rushing for 144 yards on 14 carries against Rutgers, including a 46-yard breakaway for a touchdown. He also had a 49-year breakaway run. Weber, a redshirt freshman, leads the Big Ten with a 123.8-yards-per-game average. He ranks 11th nationally.LAST WORD ON RUTGERSTwelve Ohio State players caught passes from Barrett Saturday, and eight different players scored touchdowns. Wide receivers Terry McLaurin, Parris Campbell and Johnnie Dixon all caught the first career TD passes....Backup running back Demario McCall ran for 85 yards and a TD on 10 carries late in the game after spelling Weber....Nick Bosa -- Joeys younger brother -- had four tackles and a sack.---Follow Mitch Stacy at http://twitter.com/mitchstacyFor some of his other recent stories: http://bigstory.ap.org/content/mitch-stacy ' ' '
