NEW YORK, N.Y. - A person familiar with the deal tells The Associated Press reliever Carlos Marmol and the Miami Marlins have agreed to a $1.25 million, one-year contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday night because the Marlins hadnt announced a deal. The contract includes performance bonuses, the person said. The 31-year-old right-hander has 117 saves in eight major league seasons but only two last year with the Cubs, who dealt him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in July.
