Daniel Ricciardo has warned Red Bull he will leave the team unless they can deliver a title-contending car. The Australians relationship with Red Bull - who last won a title in 2013 - has become strained in recent weeks following victory-denying strategic mistakes in both the Spanish and Monaco grands prix. Although Red Bull have publicly insisted that Ricciardo is under contract for 2017, the 26-year-olds scintillating recent form has triggered renewed speculation he could replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. And having told Sky Sports News that he believes he deserves a chance to fight for a title, Ricciardo has upped the ante further still ahead of the Canadian GP by warning his sole priority is landing a seat in a championship-challenging car. The only interest l have is with a world title. If Red Bull said we cant give you that for the next few years then the only place l would want to go to is somewhere they can say yup, you can fight for a world title with us, Ricciardo told Sky Sports. Thats all that l really want to fight for. Im not interested in being with someone for an image. When is the Canadian GP on Sky F1 and how can you watch it?Were Ricciardo to depart Red Bull, a move to Ferrari would have to confront the complication of the Aussie partnering Sebastian Vettel - a prospect many believe neither the Scuderia nor the German would countenance after Vettels year alongside Ricciardo at Red Bull ended prematurely as the newcomer claimed intra-team honours. However, Vettel says he would have no objection to partnering Ricciardo again.I raced with him in 2014 and we didnt have any problems. And l knew him before that. But its not my decision, said Vettel in Montreal.I dont mind, hes a strong guy, l like him. He had a good season in 2014, last year and this year has been difficult to judge because you dont know what happens internally, but from what l know he is a good guy. Calgary is opening a five-game stretch at home looking to improve on their 2-2-2 record. The Flames went 2-1-2 on their previous five-game homestand Oct. 21-31, and their six home contests this season are tied for the second-fewest in the league. Youve got to take advantage of the home games when you have them, forward Lance Bouma told the teams official website. Weve done a good job on the road so far. Weve just got to try to come in here tomorrow and have a big game. Jonas Hiller is expected to make his first start against the Coyotes in a Flames uniform. Previously a goaltender for Anaheim, Hiller is 9-0-1 with a 1.87 goals-against average in his last 10 matchups versus Arizona and has won six in a row. Calgary went 2-3-0 against the Coyotes in 2013-14. After faltering late in a pair of home games, the Coyotes are hoping for better luck on the road, where they have a modest win streak. Theyll attempt to snap a five-game skid in Calgary while earning a third consecutive road win for the first time in 13 months. Arizonas late struggles at home proved costly. The Coyotes (6-8-1) lost 1-0 to the New York Islanders on Saturday on a goal with 2:31 left and then blew a two-goal lead in a 4-3 loss Tuesday night to Dallas, allowing a short-handed, go-ahead goal with 1:16 to play. We know to be a ggood team that you have to win games like that.dddddddddddd Those are huge points, especially at home, defenseman Connor Murphy said. I think it helps that its a quick turnaround. ... Weve just got to stay with the right mindset and learn off of this, what we need to do to do better in Canada. The Coyotes head to Western Canada in search of their first three-game road win streak since Oct. 10-13, 2013, but their last win in Calgary was a 4-3 shootout victory Feb. 23, 2012. Phoenix has totaled 10 goals in its five straight road losses to the Flames and gone 1 for 17 on the power play. The Coyotes are 0 for 18 with a man advantage in their last four games after previously converting at a 25.6 percent rate (11 of 43) in the first 11. Were getting chances, opportunities. Its just not bouncing our way, forward Mikkel Boedker said. The Flames (9-6-2) have one of the leagues best power plays in their last six games, going 6 for 17 (35.3 percent), but struggled defensively for much of their five-game road trip. Calgary took the first two games before giving up 13 goals while dropping two of the final three. The Flames were outshot 26-15 in the final two periods of a 4-1 loss to Carolina on Monday. They capitalized on our turnovers and that was kind of the difference in the game, said forward David Jones, who scored the lone goal. Weve been away for a while but we should have had our legs tonight. We just came up short and well regroup and get ready for the next game. ' ' '
