TORONTO -- Pat Watkins is back with the Toronto Argonauts. The all-star cornerback rejoined the defending Grey Cup champions Wednesday and was with his teammates for the first time since the start of training camp. The six-foot-five, 205-pound defensive back needed the time away to take care of unspecified personal matters in Florida. "The main thing is Im here," Watkins told reporters at Varsity Stadium. "Everybody welcomed me back with open arms and thats a really great feeling. "Im really relieved that Im here." In fact, Watkins said his teammates greeted him with a standing ovation upon his arrival. "It felt good," he said. "Theres still a lot of charisma on the team, a lot of people who make you laugh. The greatest thing about it, you can go away from your home and still feel like youre at home." Toronto will play its final exhibition game Thursday night against the Montreal Alouettes at Varsity Stadium but Watkins isnt expected to suit up. Watkins, 30, had 67 tackles and five interceptions with Toronto last season, his first in the CFL. However, the Florida native didnt participate in Torontos 35-22 Grey Cup win over Calgary due to injury. Watkins signed as a free agent with the Argos in May 2012 after spending time in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers. He said physically hes fine as he was able to continue working out in Florida. "Look, Im in great shape," he said. "The timing was just off. "If this had happened a few months back as far as everything going on I couldve made it here. As I said the great thing is Im here and Ive got the whole season to look forward to." Toronto can certainly use Watkins as sophomore Jahlil Carter is the lone holdover in the Argos secondary. Cornerback Pacino Horne was released Monday while defensive back Evan McCollough signed as a free agent with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and veteran safety Jordan Younger has retired. Watkins certainly has some ground to make up considering the Argos opened training camp June 2. But the former Florida State star is fine with it if he has to reclaim his starting position to be on the field in time for Torontos season opener versus arch-rival Hamilton on June 28 at Rogers Centre. "Ive never been afraid of work," he said. "Thats fine with me." Air Max 97 Clearance . Badenhop was 2-3 with a 3.47 ERA in 63 relief appearances for Milwaukee this season. DeAndre Levy spent October trying to raise funds and increase knowledge for domestic violence awareness month. The Detroit Lions linebacker ended up raising more than $30,000 for the Enough SAID (Enough Sexual Assault in Detroit) program trying to test more than 11,000 neglected rape kits and then investigate the findings.Domestic violence awareness has been an issue Levy has undertaken during the past year both in essays and speaking out publicly to try to raise awareness. The attention he has put on the issue -- either from his voice or the T-shirt campaign with Our Issue written on the shirt -- ended up helping.Theres a lot of effects to it, and this is one of those things where we have to create a culture where were supportive, men, women and children who decide to report, stand up and say something, they do the right thing, Levy told ESPN. Their evidence is sitting in a warehouse for 20 years or whatever. ... Its just unbelievable.Thats something that you really wouldnt believe to be true. I reached out to them earlier this year and this came about later. I saw a lot of the work that they were doing and it just made sense to me.Peg Tallet, the chief community engagement officer for the Michigan Womens Foundation, which runs Enough SAID, told ESPN it costs $490 to test a neglected rape kit.dddddddddddd Tallet said the organization has tested approximately 10,900 of the 11,341 kits that were discovered in the warehouse when the project began five years ago.So Tallet said the money Levy raised and donated will either finish off the testing of the kits -- or, if the organization finds they have enough funds for that, itll fund an investigator for potentially a year. Once the kits are tested, the evidence is there, but what the kits discovered still needs to be investigated. Tallet said there are 263 cases currently being investigated and more than 1,100 ready to be investigated. If we can fund an investigator for a year, Tallet said. That could save 200 to 400 women or children from being left out of justice.Levy initially made a donation on his own in the spring through the Enough SAID website. He then started speaking with the organization, trying to find out what else he could do to help and eventually came up with the T-shirt campaign. ' ' '
