Joe Root swept the board at the England Team Awards dinner in Leeds, where there was also recognition for Sky Sports commentator David Lloyd. Root was named Test and Limited Overs Cricketer of the Year as well as coming out on top in the voting for Mens Player of the Year, an award voted for by England supporters.The Yorkshire batsman, who also has a knack for picking up key wickets with his occasional off-spin bowling, played a key part in England regaining the Ashes against Australia last summer. He scored two centuries in the series win, added four more tons in one-day cricket and finished the World Twenty20 as the tournaments leading run-scorer as England made it to the final.
