Former Liverpool winger Mark Walters believes the Reds are genuine Europa League contenders and says it will be interesting to see the side that Jurgen Klopp fields when the Reds visit Augsburg on Thursday.Liverpool head into the last-32 first-leg clash brimming with confidence after a 6-0 win against another of Walters former sides Aston Villa on Super Sunday, in a game featuring six different goalscorers.Manager Klopp has used the cups as an opportunity to blood Liverpools young players with the German handing senior first-team debuts to the likes of Sheyi Ojo, Ryan Kent, Kevin Stewart and Tiago Ilori this term. But Walters is intrigued to see the Liverpool side that will line up at the SGL Arena on Thursday, particularly with a Champions League spot up for grabs for the winners of the Europa League.Liverpool are definitely good enough to compete for the Europa League, Walters told Sky Sports. It will be interesting to see if the manager rests players as the league has been the most important competition for Liverpool and the manager gets judged by that. But Chelsea won the competition a few years ago and its still a great cup to win.
